Melitopol mayor, Ivan Fedorov, reported the information.
"Yesterday was a highly tense day for the occupiers in the temporarily occupied Melitopol and the Zaporizhzhia region. The series of events began around midnight with over 5 explosions in Melitopol. Further explosions occurred around 10 a.m. and the day ended for the occupiers with explosions that occurred at about 8 pm," the mayor said.
The explosions were heard in the area of a local depot, which Russian forces use for the transportation of their weapons and ammunition from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
"And now the Melitopol depot, along with the diesel locomotives and electric locomotives present there, will no longer be operational for logistics purposes," he added.
Explosions also occurred on the territory of a military base in Aviamistechko, a neighborhood in the northwestern part of Melitopol, and near the village of Kostiantynivka, where Russian troops were concentrated.
On the night of June 27-28, more explosions occurred in the temporarily occupied Melitopol, targeting Russian forces.
