This information comes from CNN, citing the Romanian authorities.

Preliminary reports indicate that the explosion took place in the ship's engine room.

The Seama vessel, registered in Togo, had a crew of 12 members who were promptly evacuated and received medical attention at the Sulina port near the Ukraine border.

The crew members mentioned that they suspected the ship had struck a mine. However, Romanian authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the explosion.

  • Additionally, during the shelling of the Ukrainian Danube port of Reni in the Odesa region, which occurred on July 24, a Romanian ship suffered damage.
