Night attack on Ukraine: Russian troops target residential area, civilians killed
On the night of June 9, the Russian army attacked the Zhytomyr region, killing 1 person and injuring more civilians. Ukrainian air defense forces in the region, along with the Dnipro and Mykolaiv regions, successfully shot down Russian missiles
Local authorities reported the information.
The Zvyahel City Council reported a night attack on the Zhytomyr region. A person was killed and 3 injured due to debris falling on a residential area within the community. Relevant services are working at the scene.
Furthermore, Vitaliy Bunechko, the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, confirmed that the air defense forces successfully shot down a missile during the air raid on the region. He also mentioned that the incident resulted in damage to 12 residential buildings due to falling debris. Additionally, the Zvyagel City Council reported the complete destruction of 6 houses and damage to dozens others.
Later, the State Emergency Service said that 4 houses were destroyed and 30 damaged as a result of the night attack on the Zhytomyr region.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, said that on the night of June 9, Ukrainian defenders from the East Air Command shot down 2 cruise missiles and a drone flying toward the region.
The debris fell in Novomoskovsk district of the region and damaged 2 private houses, a car, and a gas pipeline. There were no casualties.
The head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vitaliy Kim informed that at about 04:00 am, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed a cruise missile over the region.
On the night of June 9, Russian troops launched 6 cruise missiles and 16 attack drones at Ukraine. In return, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 4 Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles and 10 attack drones.
