EU's Borrell arrives in Kyiv, pays tribute to fallen Ukrainian defenders

According to the EU representative, the Day of Defenders of Ukraine is a testament to "the heroic fight of the Ukrainian people for their liberty, against Russia’s barbaric war of aggression."

"With the 9 AM minute of silence, we remember those who paid the highest price to defend their country & our collective freedom," Borrell added.

• A day earlier, Josep Borrell arrived in Odesa on an unannounced visit. There he visited the Transfiguration Cathedral destroyed by Russia.

• On the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine congratulated the defenders of Ukraine on the holiday, thanked everyone who brings the victory closer, and called for honoring the memory of the fallen heroes.
