European Council President Charles Michel visited Odesa on May 9, met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and spoke online with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Ukrainian President's Office shared this information.
"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a videoconference with European Council President Charles Michel, who visited Odesa. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also joined the conversation," the message stated.
One of the topics for discussion was preventing the world food crisis that can be caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war, in particular, by locking the Black Sea for Ukrainian exports.

Michel said that the EU will continue to provide maximum financial aid and defense to Ukraine. The EU has already approved a plan of support. The world should mobilize support for Ukraine for overcoming humanitarian challenges, economic recovery, and then should draw a 'Marshall Plan' for Ukraine.
