European Commission proposes giving Ukraine EUR 1 billion from macro financial lifeline
The European Commission proposes providing Ukraine with the a tranche of macro financial assistance amounting to EUR 1 billion. The European Commission first announced this in May 2022.

The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, shared information on Twitter.
"Today we propose to provide Ukraine with €1 billion. This will help meet the country's urgent needs," writes von der Leyen.
She also assured that the European Union will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine. In addition, the EU will support the reconstruction of the country in the long term.
