"Europe is not Disneyland for supporters of terror": Zelenskyy on visa restrictions for Russians
Zelensky emphasized that the new sanctions package should include visa restrictions for Russian citizens, because Europe cannot be "Disneyland" for supporters of terror
The head of state stated this in his own address.
"We discussed new sanctions steps. In particular, I believe that the eighth package of sanctions should include pan-European visa solutions for Russian citizens - such that none of those involved in this war can enjoy European hospitality," he emphasized.
Also, Zelenskyy added that if Russian citizens support terror against Ukraine, against the whole of Europe, and silently observe the genocide in Ukraine, then they should not be able to use Europe for entertainment and fun.
"This is an important moral thing. Europe is a territory of values, not a Disneyland for supporters of terror. And visa restrictions will definitely demonstrate this. The free world must encourage Russians to act - to act against those who started this war," the president emphasized.
He also stated that Ukraine has repeatedly warned Europe that maintaining "Nord Stream" ties with Russia will be a problem that can turn into a disaster at any moment. That's exactly what happened.
"Visa omnivory for citizens of the aggressor state, financial ties with Russia, energy dependence on Russia - all these things are used in Moscow against Europe. And I am grateful to those European leaders who are aware of the level of the threat. A very important aspect of today's conversation with Ms. Ursula von der Leyen is an opportunity for the European Commission to make a quick assessment as soon as we implement all its recommendations. We work every day for Ukraine's accession to the EU!" Zelenskyy said.
