Ukraine and Albania signed Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation
On February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the Albanian capital Tirana for the Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine.
"During a meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama, we signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and Albania. This document will promote the development of our cooperation and strengthen Ukraine's position in the Balkan region," the statement reads.
In addition, Zelenskyy and Rama discussed Ukraine's defense needs and the possibility of joint arms production.
According to the president, Albania has supported Ukraine since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion. He thanked the government and people of Albania and stated that Ukrainians will never forget "the warm attitude of your society towards Ukrainians."

Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced his visit to Albania on Telegram.
"I am working in Tirana today. I will meet with an uncompromising friend of Ukraine, Edi Rama, and take part in the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit," the president wrote.
According to him, the summit will discuss a common path to the Euro-Atlantic goal. Zelenskyy will offer to support Ukraine's efforts to ensure a just and lasting peace and the organization of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.
The visit was first announced by Albanian Foreign Minister Igli Hassani in X.
"It is a great honor to welcome President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Tirana," he wrote.
According to him, this is a key moment for strengthening bilateral ties and Albania's solidarity with Ukraine in its heroic struggle against Russian aggression.
Meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Albania
Albanian Foreign Minister Igli Hassani wrote in X about his meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba.
"I assured my counterpart of our firm support for the 'peace formula' and Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, including our commitment to assist in reconstruction efforts," Hassani wrote.
