EU provides Ukraine with additional EUR 550 million
On October 12, the European Investment Bank (EIB) provided Ukraine with an additional EUR 550 million for energy infrastructure repairs.
This was announced by Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.
Shmyhal said that these funds will help cover the costs of repairing damaged energy infrastructure facilities and support the stability of the Ukrainian power grid. The aid will also be aimed at restoring the provision of municipal and basic services to the population in communities.
The Prime Minister noted that within two months, as the emergency support package from the European Investment Bank and the European Commission, Ukraine received EUR 1.05 billion. Another EUR 540 million will be paid by restoring financing of joint projects.
"We expect that the EIB and the EU will be among the leaders in the large-scale post-war reconstruction, economic recovery, and financing of the infrastructure development of our country," Shmyhal wrote.
