EU is looking for evidence of any Iranian involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine - Borrell
The European Union called for concrete evidence of any Iranian involvement in Russia's war against Ukraine
Such a statement was made on Monday by the EU's chief diplomat, Josep Borrell, Reuters reports.
“We will look for concrete evidence about the participation (of Iran in the Ukraine war)," Josep Borrell told reporters as he arrived for a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, adding Ukraine's Dmytro Kuleba would take part in the gathering.
The EU may decide to impose new sanctions on Iran over the matter, according to two diplomats involved in the preparation for the talks between the ministers, although no detailed decisions are expected on Monday.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Jeppe Kofod, said that the EU should respond decisively to new air attacks on Kyiv.
"What we can see now: Iranian drones are used apparently to attack Kyiv’s midtown, this is an atrocity," Kofod said, adding that the EU should take "concrete steps" in response.
