The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated this at a briefing in Strasbourg.

"Consideration of this issue (confiscation of Russian assets) is related to justice. And we are working on a legal basis to enable the use of Russian assets and partly oligarchs for the reconstruction of Ukraine," - von der Leyen said.

The development of legislation for the legal confiscation of Russian assets in the European Union was also confirmed by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

The President of the European Commission stated that the conference in Lugano, Switzerland, which ended on Tuesday, was very successful, as various approaches to the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine were proposed there.
