EU approves tenth anniversary package of Russian sanctions
The European Union countries agreed on the tenth package of sanctions against Russia, symbolically adopted exactly one year after the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine
This was announced by the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council.
The sanctions include, among other things, tighter export restrictions regarding dual-use products and technologies to Russia, targeted restrictive measures against individuals and legal entities supporting the war, spreading propaganda or delivering drones used by Russia in the war, as well as measures against Russian disinformation.
"Together, the EU Member States have imposed the most forceful and far-reaching sanctions ever to help Ukraine win the war. The EU stands united with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We will keep supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes," the Swedish EU Presidency emphasized.

(1/3)
The approval of the sanctions package was constantly postponed due to Poland's position, which demanded tougher sanctions on rubber trade with Russia. Now the sanctions package must be approved in written procedure by the EU Council, and it will enter into force after publication in the EU Official Journal.
