The Czech Presidency of the EU Council reported the information on Twitter.
“Ambassadors agreed in principle on a sanctions package against Russia as part of the EU's ongoing support for Ukraine. The third Russia sanctions package negotiated under EU2022CZ should be confirmed via written procedure tomorrow,” the tweet reads.
Reuters, citing EU diplomats, said that the sanctions package should be finalized in writing in the morning of December 16.
"Sanctions agreed. Written procedure until tomorrow noon," Reuters’ source said.
Earlier, Poland and the Baltic countries blocked a new package of sanctions against Russia because some countries had proposed weakening them.
