Ibrahim Kalin, the spokesman of the President of Turkey, reports.
"We did not make major public statements until the solving of this issue. Our president was very warm to this issue, we discussed this with our colleagues for about 3-3.5 months," he said.
According to Kalin, the Turkish and Ukrainian presidents agreed on the exchange of 15 commanders from Azovstal. We managed to agree on only five of them - Denys Prokopenko, Serhiy Volynskyi, Svyatoslav Palamar, Denys Shlega and Oleg Khomenko.
Discussions about the release of Russians lasted about three and a half months.
