Entrepreneur Vadatursky, wife die in Mykolaiv shelling

The owner of one of Ukraine's largest companies, Nibulon, Oleksiy Vadatursky and his wife have died as a result of Russian shelling of Mykolaiv

"I offer my deepest condolences to my colleague, former People's Deputy Andrii Vadatursky, regarding the tragic death of his father and mother as a result of today's shelling of Mykolaiv. President of Nibulon, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Vadatursky was a strong, indomitable personality. Eternal memory!" - Batenko wrote. 

Later, this information was also confirmed by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim.

"Mykolaiv is a Hero City. Every day we lose our residents, our soldiers. And today our city lost its Hero. Hero of Ukraine, general director of the Nibulon company Oleksiy Opanasovych Vadatursky and his wife Raisa Mykhailivna Vadaturska died tragically as a result of shelling of the city at night. Oleksiy Opanasovych did a lot for the Mykolaiv region and for Ukraine. His contribution to the development of the agricultural and shipbuilding industries and the development of the region is invaluable. So much has been done - so much could be done... With respect and deepest sympathy.  Rest in peace", the governor said.

Anna Zamazeyeva, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, wrote that the name of Oleksiy Vadatursky "will forever remain in the history of Ukrainian and world business".

"A man-legend with a strong character and values. The owner of one of the largest agricultural enterprises in Ukraine, Oleksiy Opanasovych, had a big heart and always came to help with a charitable mission. Remaining a patriot of his country, he was in his city, in his native Mykolaiv, until the end", she wrote. 

For reference. Oleksiy Opanasovych Vadatursky (born September 8, 1947, Bendzary village, Odesa region) is a Ukrainian agricultural entrepreneur. Hero of Ukraine, general director of the NIBULON agricultural enterprise, vice-president of the Ukrainian Grain Association (since February 2005).

In 2021, Forbes estimated the businessman's fortune at USD 430 million. Vadatursky took the 24th place in the TOP-100 richest people of Ukraine.
