Energy security on agenda during Zelenskyy’s meeting with EBRD President
On September 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine has been receiving significant investment even during the war, but for sustainable development, there should be more. This will encourage refugees to return home.
"If we have a reliable air defense system and jobs, people will return to Ukraine even now, while the war is ongoing. And our country will not only fight for its freedom, but will continue to live," the president noted.
According to him, Ukraine is interested in continuing cooperation with the EBRD, in particular in the areas of energy security, trade finance, support for critical infrastructure and municipalities, food security, the corporate sector, etc.
Zelenskyy also spoke about the need for financing to implement projects in the private sector, as well as to attract additional private capital to rebuild the country.
In turn, the EBRD President noted that Ukraine's economy has stabilized and continues to operate in a large part of the country. She promised to assist Ukrenergo in building protective structures around energy facilities and Naftogaz in ensuring sufficient volumes of natural gas. Odile Renaud-Basso also assured of the EBRD's intention to continue financing Ukrzaliznytsia's projects. According to her, the EBRD is working to increase its authorized capital, which will allow it to allocate additional funding for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
