Ukrainian forces shoot down Russian Su-25 in Pokrovsk direction

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff's reports.

“Ukrainian troops continue to fiercely resist the attempts of the Russian invaders to advance deep into the territory of Ukraine, doing everything possible to repel their attack on Ukraine. Today, the Russians concentrated their efforts in the Kharkiv region, as well as in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are aware of the Russian plans and are doing everything to thwart them,” the statement said.

Since the beginning of the day, 121 combat clashes have taken place. The Russians launched 5 missile strikes and 37 air strikes, using 47 combat aircraft and 376 'kamikaze' drone strikes. The Russians fired 3,280 times at the Ukrainian troops' positions.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian troops repelled eight Russian attacks near the villages of Lyptsi and Starytsia. Fighting continues in the Pletenivka-Vovchansk area. The situation is under control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the defenders are giving a worthy fight back.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces defeated 22 attacks. Four combat clashes are still ongoing in the areas of Berestove and Makiivka. The situation is under control.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces fought off 6 attacks. The Russian troops did not succeed.

In the Siversk direction, 2 Russian attacks continue in the area of Vyimka. The situation is under control. Eight more Russian attempts to advance in the areas of Bilohorivka and Verkhnekamianske failed over the last day.

The number of combat clashes in the Kramatorsk direction increased to 10. The Ukrainian Defense Forces held their positions. Over the last day, the Russian forces lost 58 people in killed and wounded, a T-90 tank, two armored personnel carriers and 4 BMP-3 units were destroyed. Another 2 such armored infantry vehicles were damaged.

The number of attacks in the Pokrovsk direction increased to 25. In particular, the Russian troops are trying to break into Ukrainian combat formations with assault groups and equipment. 

The situation remains tense - 9 combat engagements are still ongoing 

In the Kurakhove direction, fighting continues in the area of Heorhiivka. Since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces have attacked Ukrainian troops 18 times in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskoviivka.

The situation in other directions remains unchanged.

Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes on Russian forces

Since the beginning of the day, the Russian troops have lost 87 soldiers and 21 pieces of military equipment in the Kharkiv direction, including two artillery systems that were completely destroyed.

According to available information, Ukrainian troops destroyed a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in the Pokrovsk direction.

Ukrainian aviation, missile and artillery units struck at 4 areas of Russian personnel concentration, 2 control points, 2 UAV control stations, an electronic warfare facility, 2 cannons, and a S-400 air defense system.

“Information on the results of the damage is being clarified,” the General Staff added.
