65 combat clashes took place on the frontline over the last day. Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks in 7 directions and eliminated 910 soldiers

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to February 9, 2024, amounted to:

General Staff report: Ukrainian Defense Forces repel 58 attacks in 7 directions

The operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders fought off 5 attacks near the towns of Synkivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region. The Russian troops tried to break through Ukrainian forces' defense.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders rebuffed 4 Russian attacks near Terny, Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces beat back 4 Russian troops' attacks near Ivanivske and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders are holding back the invading Russian army, which is trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the invading army. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 19 Russian troops' attacks near Avdiivka and another 7 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region over the last day.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian troops are holding back the Russian forces near Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian defenders rebuffed 16 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the occupying Russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled a Russian attack west of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers are holding their positions and repelling attacks by Russian occupying forces. Despite significant losses, the Russian troops are trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Over the past day, the Russian military made 2  unsuccessful assault attempts.

Russian army launches 13 missiles, 66 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the last day, 65 combat clashes took place. In total, the Russian army launched 13 missiles, 66 air strikes, and 96 MLRS attacks at Ukrainian forces' positions and settlements.

Russian air strikes targeted 17 Ukrainian settlements.

Over 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under Russian artillery fire.

Ukrainian forces destroy 2 Russian ammunition depots and 2 artillery pieces

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 7 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Ukrainian missile units struck 2 Russian troops' ammunition depots, 2 artillery sites and 1 logistics hub.

  • On the night of February 9, the Russian military launched attack drones at Ukraine from two directions - Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions.
