Russian army loses 20 tanks, 32 artillery systems and 710 servicemen overnight - General Staff

Over the past day, 53 clashes between Russian and Ukrainian troops took place on the frontline. Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attacks in six key directions eliminating 710 Russian soldiers

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to April 1, 2024, amounted to:

Situation at the frontline: Ukrainian Armed Forces fought off 50 Russian attacks in 6 directions over the last day

According to the General Staff, the operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border.

In the Kupyansk direction, the invading Russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled three Russian attacks near Terny, Donetsk region. The Russian troops, supported by air power, tried to break through Ukrainian troops' defenses.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian forces beat back 8 attacks in the vicinity of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhnekamianske, Ivanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Donetsk region. The Russian troops, supported by air power, tried to improve the tactical situation.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed 13 attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Semenivka, Umanske, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk region. The Russian forces, supported by air, tried to drive Ukrainian units from their positions.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian troops near Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka and east of Vodiane in Donetsk region. Supported by air, Russian militants tried to break through Ukrainian troops' defenses 22 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian invaders launched two attacks on Ukrainian positions near Staromayorske, Donetsk region, and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian troops keep trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, the Russian forces attacked Ukrainian troops' positions twice.

In total, the Russian military launched 22 missile strikes, 79 air strikes, fired 97 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Several high-rise buildings and other civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.

At night, Russian forces attacked Ukraine again, using 3 Shahed UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 2 of the attack UAVs.

1 settlement in Sumy region; 9 settlements in Kharkiv region; 1 settlement in Luhansk region; 13 settlements in Donetsk region; 2 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region were hit by air strikes.

More than 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

At the same time, over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 11 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 3 Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

The missile troops destroyed 3 Russian UAV control centers, 1 air defense system, 1 electronic warfare station and 1 artillery unit.
