Over the last day, 92 combat engagements took place in the frontline. Ukrainian forces repelled Russian troops' attacks in 7 directions eliminating 910 soldiers

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from 24.02.22 to 08.02.24 are estimated at:

General Staff report: 92 combat engagements took place in the frontline, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 40 attacks in the Avdiivka direction

The operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders fought off 3 attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region. The Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops beat back 9 Russian attacks in the vicinity of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Terny, Torske, Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces countered 8 Russian troops' attacks near Ivanivske and Klishchiivka, Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders are holding back the Russian troops who are trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 27 attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka and another 13 attacks near Nevelske and Pervomayske in Donetsk region over the past day.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian troops are holding back the invading Russian forces near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian defenders rebuffed 22 Russian attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the occupying Russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defense repulsed two Russian troops' attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding their positions and repelling the Russian forces' attacks. Despite significant losses, the Russian troops are trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Over the past day, the Russian forces carried out 4 unsuccessful assaults.

Russian army launches 51 missile strikes and 80 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the past day, 92 combat engagements took place. In total, the Russian army launched 51 missile strikes, 80 air strikes, fired 89 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

At night, the Russian troops attacked Ukraine once again, using 17 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces downed 11 attack drones.

Yablunivka, Sumy region; Tabaivka, Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; 6 settlements in Donetsk region; Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhia region; 3 settlements in Kherson region were hit by air strikes.

More than 130 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 3 Russian personnel concentration areas

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 6 Russian personnel concentration areas, as well as weapons and military equipment.

Ukrainian missile troops struck 3 Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration areas and 2 ammunition depots.

  • In the evening and on the night of February 8, Russian terrorists launched attack UAVs of the Shahed type to shell Ukraine, explosions were heard in Odesa and Mykolaiv.
  • Ukrainian forces downed 11 drones.
