Russia loses 870 soldiers, 37 armored vehicles and 31 missiles per day - General Staff

Russia's total combat losses from February 24, 22 to March 22, 24 were approximately:

  • personnel - about 434,710 (+870),
  • tanks - 6,840 (+8)
  • armored fighting vehicles - 13,111 (+37) 
  • artillery systems - 10,775 (+35) 
  • MLRS - 1,018 (+0) 
  • air defense systems - 723 (+2) 
  • aircraft - 347 (+0) 
  • helicopters - 325 (+0) 
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 8,388 (+23) 
  • cruise missiles - 1,953 (+31) 
  • ships/boats - 26 (+0) 
  • submarines - 1 (+0) 
  • vehicles and fuel tankers - 14,287 (+45) 
  • special equipment - 1,749 (+8).

General Staff report: Russia intensified forces in the Bakhmut and Novopavlivka directions, 74 clashes in the last day

The operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Russian troops, with the support of aviation, made two unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian defense positions near the town of Synkivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 Russian attacks near Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, and Terny, Spirne, Vesele, Rozdolivka, Donetsk region. Russian forces, supported by air power, tried to break through Ukrainian troops' defenses.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian forces repulsed 15 Russian troops' attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders fought off 5 Russian attacks near Berdychi, Semenivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the invading Russian troops near Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane and Urozhaine. The Russian military, supported by air power, tried to break through the Ukrainian troops' defense 25 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian units attacked Ukrainian positions 8 times with the support of aviation near Staromayorske, Donetsk region, and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

The invading Russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions in the Kherson direction.

The Russian forces launch 36 missile strikes and 55 air strikes against Ukraine

Over the past day, 74 clashes took place. In total, Russian troops launched 36 missile strikes, 55 air strikes, and 150 MLRS attacks at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.

Russian troops have massively attacked Ukraine on the night of March 22. A combined attack with Russian missiles of various types and Shahed-type UAVs began in the evening of March 21 with the launch of attack drones. On the night of March 22, Russian troops launched cruise missiles. Information on the consequences of the attack and the damage caused is being clarified.

Two settlements in Sumy region; 1 settlement in Kharkiv region; 2 settlements in Luhansk region; 11 settlements in Donetsk region; 1 settlement in Zaporizhzhia region were hit by air strikes.

About 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

Ukraine hits a Russian artillery vehicle and 2 air defense systems

During the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 7 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment and 2 anti-aircraft missile systems.

Ukrainian missile troops destroyed 1Russian artillery unit and 2 air defense systems.
