British intel: Russian losses in Ukraine exceed 1.1 million troops since 2022
Russia has lost about 1,118,000 troops since the start of its war against Ukraine, including up to 332,000 this year alone
The data was reported by British intelligence.
According to statistics, the recorded rate of Russian army losses decreased from March to August 2025 but began to rise steadily in October, exceeding 1,000 personnel per day between October 5 and 12.
British intelligence also cited data from Ukraine’s General Staff showing that Russia’s average daily losses last month were around 950 personnel — higher than in August.
At the same time, Russian army losses in September were the lowest since April 2024.
Latest frontline data
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, total Russian combat losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022 amount to about 1,125,150 personnel, including 1,200 over the past day.
Reports also indicate an increase in clashes between Ukrainian forces and the enemy in recent days, with the Pokrovsk direction remaining the hottest.
Kremlin’s next steps
British intelligence has also reported on Russia’s plans to introduce year-round military conscription. Analysts say the move aims, among other things, to reduce public sensitivity to mobilization.
Last week, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin claimed that the 2022 invasion of Ukraine was “correct and timely.”
