Russia attempts to advance through Serebryanske Forestry towards Lyman – military expert Zgurets
Serhiy Zgurets, a Defense Express analyst, discussed the frontline situation near the Serebryanske Forestry. According to him, the Russian troops are launching ground counterattacks to establish a strategic advantage over the Armed Forces near Siversk
This information was shared during an interview on Espreso.
"Currently, ground counterattacks are underway in that area. If we consider the terrain, it closely resembles that around Avdiivka and Bakhmut. The adversary employed artillery, clearing the forest. The landscape, now marked by mutilated trees, is no longer a forest but a haunting scene," explains Zgurets.
The analyst stresses that the Russian actions near Serebryanka and Zolotarivka are mainly geared towards advancing to Lyman and creating a strategic advantage over the Armed Forces near Siversk. "This is both factually and tactically comprehensible."
"Given the prolonged conflict and the minimal progress of enemy forces against our defenses, which have successfully repelled invaders, there seems to be limited potential for the adversary to breach. Particularly, the primary enemy force in this region has concentrated around Kupyansk, where active counterattacks have been observed. Their main thrust is towards Kupyansk-Vuzlove. The entire axis of Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna and the Serebryanske Forestry is notably tense. However, the more significant threat lies around Kupyansk, which is strategically vital for the enemy due to the ease of transferring reserves," he concludes.
