Elon Musk refuses to restore full Starlink access for AFU to prevent “escalation”

American astronaut Scott Kelly has urged Elon Musk to restore full access to Starlink for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The businessman has refused the request and justified it by saying that he "will not enable escalation of conflict that may lead to World War III."

He made the response on Twitter.

On February 11, Scott Kelly asked Elon Musk to restore full access to Starlink for the Ukrainian military, as it is a matter of “survival."

"Ukraine desperately needs your continued support. Please restore the full functionality of your Starlink satellites. Defense from a genocidal invasion is not an offensive capability. It’s survival. Innocent lives will be lost. You can help. Thank you," the tweet reads.

On February 13, Musk commented on the request and said that despite the fact that Starlink is the "communication backbone" of Ukraine and the frontline in particular, where there is no other Internet, he "will not enable escalation of conflict."

"You’re smart enough not to swallow media and other propaganda bs. Starlink is the communication backbone of Ukraine, especially at the front lines, where almost all other Internet connectivity has been destroyed. But we will not enable escalation of conflict that may lead to World War III," Elon Musk replied.
