Electrical transformers catch fire in Odesa due to overloading after Russian shelling

Anton Shalyhailo, Director of the Department of Housing and Communal Economy and Energy Efficiency of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported this.

On the evening of December 7, electricity was restored in Odesa.

“DTEK's (Ukraine's largest private power company - ed.) energy engineers completed the connection of household consumers of Odesa and the Odesa district. They carried out extraordinary work to restore the city's energy system after a missile strike. However, there are cases of overloading of networks, which leads to failure of switches, circuit breakers, automatic devices, and there are cases of switchboards catching fire at substations,” Shalyhailo said.

It is reported that teams of workers are repairing power lines. They promise to return electricity to the homes of Odesa residents as soon as possible.
