Dutch Defense Minister on F-16 for Ukraine: We are working to make it happen as soon as possible

During her speech at the VI International Veterans Forum “Ukraine. Defenders. Future”, the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands Kajsa Ollongren said that the country will try to send the jets as soon as possible

Espreso correspondent reports it.

"We're actively working on this in the near future. We've already begun training Ukrainian pilots and technical experts. In Ukraine, the country's infrastructure improvements are underway, and the US has granted initial approval. We're collectively striving to achieve this goal as quickly as possible, though it will require some time, so I can't provide a precise timeline," Ollongren explained.

During a veterans' forum, the Dutch Defense Minister highlighted her ongoing efforts to determine the exact quantity of fighter jets that will be sent to Ukraine.

"Alongside Denmark, we've agreed to supply F-16s. We're currently in discussions about the specific number, as we need a certain amount for training Ukrainian pilots. I anticipate that a significant portion of our F-16s will be sent to Ukraine, but the precise number is still subject to discussion," Ollongren added.

Just to recall, on August 22, the head of the Netherlands Ministry of Defense visited Kyiv.
