
Drone strikes in Ukraine: Russia hits Kyiv and Cherkasy, injuring civilians, children
On the evening of Saturday, May 3, the Russian army launched drone strikes across Ukraine. At least 11 people were injured in Kyiv, and the Dream Town shopping mall was also damaged
Attack on Kyiv
Right after the attack, debris from downed drones was reported falling in several districts of Kyiv.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv city military administration, said debris was recorded in the Obolonskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Svyatoshynskyi districts.
He later confirmed that a car and the upper floors of a residential building caught fire in Obolonskyi, injuring two children aged 14 and 17. In Svyatoshynskyi, three private houses caught fire.
"At the moment, four Kyiv residents have sought medical help. Three in Svyatoshynskyi and one in Obolonskyi. All received assistance on the spot," said Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Social media users reported that the Dream Town mall in Obolon was damaged during the Russian drone attack. As of now, there is no official confirmation about the damage to the shopping and entertainment center.
By the morning of May 4, the number of injured in Kyiv had risen to 11, including two children.
Consequences of the shelling in Cherkasy
Separately, five fires broke out overnight in different areas of Cherkasy due to Russian shelling. Residential flats, a warehouse building at a local business, a summer house, and dry vegetation were all reported burning.
Two apartments on the first and second floors of a four-story dormitory were seriously damaged.
In total, one person was injured.
