Canada sends NASAMS air defense system to Ukraine
On November 4, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. They discussed defense support for Ukraine, with Trudeau expressing his backing for Ukraine's Victory Plan

Zelenskyy shared on Telegram that they also talked about organizing the second Peace Summit and involving Global South countries in the process. Trudeau announced the transfer of the first NASAMS air defense system to Ukraine, which is expected to arrive by the end of this year.
The leaders also addressed ongoing defense support, the situation at the front, and North Korea's involvement in the war. They coordinated efforts for Canada's upcoming G7 presidency next year.
NASAMS is an anti-aircraft missile system designed to target various aerial threats, including drones, missiles, helicopters, and planes. It was developed by Norway's Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace and the American company Raytheon Technologies.
- Canada plans to give Ukraine a C$64.8 million ($47 million) military aid package that will include small arms, ammunition, and protective gear.
