Ukrainian forces eliminate 620 invading Russian troops, 7 tanks and 14 artillery systems in a day - General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated this in a morning report on November 18.

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 2022 to November 18, 2023 are estimated to be:

• personnel - about 317,380 (+620) people
• tanks - 5,422 (+7) 
• armored combat vehicles - 10,141 (+9) 
• artillery systems - 7,726 (+14)
• MLRS - 896 (+1)
• air defense systems - 586 (+1)
• aircraft - 323 (+0)
• helicopters - 324 (+0) 
• operational and tactical level UAVs - 5,726 (+17)
• cruise missiles - 1,563 (+0)
• ships/boats - 22 (+0)
• submarines - 1 (+0)
• motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 10,091 (+14)
• special equipment - 1090 (+4).

Consequences of Russian attacks

Russian terrorist attacks resulted in civilian casualties. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Air strikes hit one locality in Kharkiv region; four in Donetsk region; one in Zaporizhzhia region; one in Kherson region.

Over 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Situation at the main frontline areas

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Kupyansk direction, the Russian army carried out assault operations in the areas of 3 localities in the Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian soldiers repelled 4 attacks.

In the Lyman direction, Russia launched unsuccessful assaults north of Serebrianka, Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukraine's defenders repelled 11 invader attacks in the areas of 3 settlements in Donetsk region. In turn, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their assault operations south of Bakhmut in Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian enemy, and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka direction, the Russian army keeps trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line and inflicting significant losses on the invaders. The Russian offensives near Keramik in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful. The Defense Forces repelled 23 attacks there.

In the Marinka direction, the Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian troops repelled 21 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the invaders attacked south of Vodiane in the Donetsk region, but they failed.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Russian militants launched unsuccessful assault operations near Robotyne and west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region, where Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, depleting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers are conducting counter-battery combat and inflicting fire on Russia's rear.

Missile troops destroy Russian air defense system, 3 areas of Russian soldiers and equipment concentration

Marine units, together with other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, where they repelled 12 enemy attacks yesterday. Ukrainian troops are consolidating their positions and inflicting fire on the invaders.

During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 10 strikes on the areas of personnel concentration and 2 strikes on Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile troops hit 3 areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment concentration, 6 artillery units, an air defense facility, a command and control center and an ammunition depot.
