DeepState: Russian troops take control of industrial zone in Avdiivka
Roman Pohorilyi, co-founder of DeepState, an interactive online map of hostilities in Ukraine, said that the Russian forces have finally entered the industrial zone of Avdiivka and have consolidated their positions
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"Unfortunately, the industrial zone is essentially lost. The invaders have finally entered and gained a foothold there. Russian soldiers are constantly there. The red and gray zone is already an active combat zone, it has gone beyond the territory of the industrial zone. The Russians are trying to advance there," Pohorilyi said.
The industrial zone is high ground, which will have certain consequences for future battles in the city itself, he noted.
"Now the enemy is trying to concentrate its forces there. Russians have brought infantry and equipment there," added Pohorilyi.
According to him, the Russian troops are also trying to carry out appropriate maneuvers to advance in the area of Stepove.
"They are trying to get in everywhere. The Russians attempt to go around from the north, towards Berdychi, and from the south between the coke plants. Recently, fighters of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade published footage showing that the area is completely covered with Russian corpses. Nevertheless, according to Ukrainian soldiers, the invaders continue to " crawl like zombies". It's very difficult to hold back this pressure," says the co-founder of DeepState.
- On December 18, Maksym Morozov, the Legion of Freedom officer, and Interior Ministry Major noted the Russian troops were attempting to move through the railroad to Stepove, which may lead to the expansion of gray zones
