Damage to Nord Stream pipelines: Norway will send military to protect country's oil and gas facilities

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Haar Støre said that military will be directed to protect energy facilities due to the damage of the Nord Stream pipelines

This is reported by VG with reference to the statement of Prime Minister Støre.

"The military will have a greater presence at Norwegian oil and gas facilities," Støre told a news conference, adding that the navy would protect offshore infrastructure, while the police would increase security at facilities on land.

The Norwegian prime minister added that "abnormal" drone activity was recorded in the Baltic Sea in September.  At the same time, according to Støre, no specific threats to Norway have been recorded so far.

As is known, gas leaks occurred on the "Northern Stream-1" and "Northern Stream-2" gas pipelines.  It is assumed that this could have happened due to the undermining of pipelines.
