Cruel execution video circulates online. Allegedly, a Ukrainian military is being killed

In the evening of April 11, a video went viral on social media: Russian soldiers brutally execute a man, calling him a Ukrainian military

The video is specifically being shared on Twitter and Telegram.

In the video, Russians kill a man by cutting off his head; one of them gives the other advice on how to act, and they both express admiration for Ukrainian equipment and weapons.

The man was conscious before execution.

After the video went viral, Andriy Yermak of the President's Office made a post on Telegram, saying that "there will be a response and responsibility for everything."

As of the morning of Wednesday, April 12, there were no clearly articulated comments from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies or authorized representatives of the authorities.

A few hours after the video appeared, the Ukrainian DeepState OSINT community said it had begun looking for comrades of the executed fighter. According to them, he could disappear between May and August 2022.

According to CNN, two similar videos appeared online last week. "The videos appear to be of separate events. One of them may have been filmed very recently, while the other — from the amount of foliage seen on the ground — looks like it was filmed during the summer," the article says.

It is noted that the first video was published on a pro-Russian social media channel on April 8. It was deliberately filmed by Wagner mercenaries and shows two decapitated bodies of Ukrainian soldiers lying on the ground next to a destroyed military vehicle. The publication also suggests that both soldiers also had their hands cut off.

"Russian social media accounts say the video was shot near Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, which has been the scene of the war’s fiercest fighting for many months, with Wagner fighters very heavily involved," the message says.

The second video, which was posted on Twitter and is heavily blurred, looks to have been filmed during the summer because of the amount of plant life on the ground.

"It purports to show a Russian fighter using a knife to cut off the head of a Ukrainian soldier. A voice at the beginning of the video suggests the victim might have still been alive when the brutal attack began," CNN emphasizes.

Espreso does not publish the video and does not recommend watching it, especially for sensitive people.
