RTS TV channel quoted Milanovic as saying that Kosovo was taken away from Serbia:
"When will you realize that Serbia and Russia are not the same thing? That this is, unfortunately, a painful fact and a danger. We annexed Kosovo. We and the international community did. It was taken away from Serbia. Who did it if not us? Did we recognize Kosovo? This is not an annexation, but a usurpation. What do you call it? Seizure," Milanovic said.
"The same applies to Crimea - Crimea will never be Ukraine again. This is what leading German generals say," he added.
At the same time, the Croatian leader called Russia "dangerous".
"We are entering a war with a superpower," he emphasized.
"Fierce emotions are leading Europe to something it cannot cope with," Milanovic added, urging countries not to confront Russia.
A year ago, Milanovic said that Ukraine had no place in NATO, and called the Revolution of Dignity a "coup."
