Crimea’s status may be discussed only once it is de-occupied - security expert Varchenko
Security expert Ivan Varchenko believes that the issue of Crimea's status should be discussed only after the de-occupation of the peninsula
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"We and our partners believe that a just end to the war should be a return to the legal standards developed by the international community. In particular, with regard to the inviolability of state borders of sovereign countries. Therefore, if we make any compromises, they will result in great losses for our statehood," Varchenko explained.
The expert emphasized that the status of Crimea can be discussed only in Ukraine.
"Today there can be no compromises on Crimea. Crimea is Ukraine. Only after Russia leaves Crimea and we realize that we have destroyed the Russian imperial threat, can we discuss the status of Crimea. And I want to emphasize that such discussions are possible only in Ukraine, as it is an integral part of our country," he added.
