Russian sociologist, political expert, and journalist Igor Eidman believes that the conflict between Prigozhin and the Russian Defense Ministry is escalating and will inevitably turn violent

He said this on Espreso TV.

“Putin, speaking to his propagandists, said that he supported the idea that the so-called volunteers, i.e. mercenaries, should sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense, allegedly for their social protection. Today, Prigozhin actually rejected this proposal, writing on Telegram that everyone needs social protection, but this issue needs to be addressed differently, and he will not sign a contract,” Eidman said.

According to the political expert, the conflict between Prigozhin and the Russian Defense Ministry is escalating.

“Prigozhin is no longer following orders not only from the Russian Defense Minister, but also from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Russia. And this indicates that the conflict is escalating. This conflict will inevitably turn violent, and it will happen quite quickly. Neither side will be able to tolerate a situation where there are two armies at the front that are at war with each other for long. Not only the Russian Defense Ministry, but also the presidential administration and Putin himself are trying to put Prigozhin under the control of the Russian Defense Ministry leadership. And Prigozhin will not go for it. There is only one conclusion: there will be security operations against Prigozhin and his inner circle. And everything will end with Prigozhin being removed, or imprisoned, or sent to Africa,” Eidman added.

  • On June 13, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin met with war correspondents because he understands that staunch supporters of the war in Ukraine are his key constituency.

  • On June 13, Vladimir Putin met with war correspondents. He expressed regret that the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant had allegedly disrupted the Ukrainian army's offensive in that area, as the Russian army had better positions there. The dictator also noted that the flooding of cattle cemeteries and cemeteries after the destruction of the hydroelectric power plant was not a problem for Russia. Chemical defense troops will be deployed to resolve the issue. In addition, he said, Russia is thinking of withdrawing from the grain deal because Ukraine is allegedly using grain corridors to launch maritime drones.
