Ukrainian Yaroslava Mahuchikh sets new world record in high jump
At the Diamond League stage in Paris, Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh set a world record in women's high jump, jumping 2.10 meters for the first time in history

Mahuchikh set the world record after she defeated Australian Nicola Olyslagers, the only one to take the 2.03 m bar.
After clearing 2.03 meters, Mahuchikh set two consecutive records. First, she cleared 2.07 m (on her second attempt), updating her personal high jump record, and then she cleared 2.10 m on her first attempt, setting a world record.
For reference: The world record in women's high jump had been held for 37 years. The previous record was set in 1987 by Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova, who cleared 2.09 m. Maguchikh is the first to clear 2.10 m.

On June 9, athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh won first place at the European Athletics Championships, while Iryna Herashchenko took third place.
