Ukrainian rowers win World Rowing Championships' first stage
The women's double sculls won the first stage of the Rowing World Cup in Varese, Italy
The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and the National Olympic Team of Ukraine shared the information.
The top four included Natalia Dovhodko, Kateryna Dudchenko, Daryna Verkhohlyad and Anastasia Kozhenkova.
In the preliminary race, the athletes showed the best time among the six crews participating in the competition.
In the final, the Ukrainians demonstrated that their victory in the previous race was no fluke. They crossed the finish line in first place, significantly ahead of their closest rivals from the Netherlands and Germany, with leads of 1.84 seconds and 2.35 seconds, respectively.
