CIA director meets with Naryshkin in Ankara, warns Russia against using nuclear weapons in Ukraine
Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns, has held a meeting with the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, in the capital of Turkey

The New York Times reports this.
Burns' visit to Turkey and meeting with Russian representatives were confirmed by the US National Security Council. This is the first meeting between representatives of the USA and Russia since the Russian army's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The US noted that Burns warned Russia against using nuclear weapons in Ukraine at the meeting. Burns and Naryshkin also discussed the fate of Americans detained in the Russian Federation.
The US National Security Council stressed that Burns did not discuss any issues of settling or ending the war in Ukraine. They also noted that the Ukrainian authorities were warned in advance about Burns' meeting with Naryshkin.
