The Center for Combating Disinformation published a selection of Russia's fake stories as of August 18
This is reported by Espreso.TV.
According to the CPD at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, on August 18, Russians launched three major deceptions.
Disinformation: The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that "the ultimate goal of the provocation [at the Zaporizhia NPP] is to create an exclusion zone of up to 30 km, to introduce international forces and foreign observers to the territory of the ZNPP, as well as to accuse the Russian Federation of nuclear terrorism."
Disinformation: The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that "in Toretsk, Donetsk region, in the premises of the music school and the Palace of Culture, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have placed strongholds and ammunition depots, in the adjacent territory they have equipped artillery positions and MLRS, from which they systematically fire at nearby settlements, while they use civilians as a "human shield".
Disinformation: The Russian Foreign Ministry reported: "There is no reasonable explanation for the criminal connivance of the West regarding Kyiv's strikes on the Zaporizhzhia NPP. Moscow records Kyiv's feverish attempts to disrupt the visit of the IAEA mission to the ZNPP, blaming it on the Russian Federation."
