Bulgarian parliament approves agreement on arms supply to Ukraine
On December 16, the Bulgarian parliament voted to approve the Bulgaria-Ukraine agreement on the supply of weapons, equipment and munitions
This is reported by The Sofia Globe.
The decision was approved by 166 votes, 48 deputies were against it. In particular, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and the pro-Russian Renaissance party voted against it. Socialists called on President Rumen Radev to impose a veto.
Last week, deputies voted to approve the list of weapons to be provided to Ukraine. The list was classified.
The decision approves a proposal submitted by the Bulgarian government in November to provide military aid to Ukraine.
The Minister of Defense, Dimitar Stoyanov, stated that Bulgaria is unable to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine, but only small arms and ammunition.
Stoyanov said that the list is classified because it contains information about all of Bulgaria's weapons.
He noted that no country discloses complete information about the weapons it sends to Ukraine.
