British intelligence finds out where Russia hides combat jets which it uses for strikes on Ukraine

Russia used for missile strikes on Ukraine its most modern aircraft Su-57, which are located at the air base in Astrakhan region

British Ministry of Defense reports on Twitter.

British intelligence draws attention to the fact that since June 2022, Russian Aerospace Forces have almost certainly used Su-57 to conduct missions against Ukraine.

Su-57 FELON is Russia's most advanced fifth-generation supersonic combat jet that uses stealth technology and advanced avionics. Its missions were probably limited to flying over the territory of Russia and launching long-range air-to-surface or air-to-air missiles over the territory of Ukraine.

Latest commercially available images show five Su-57s based at Akhtubinsk Air Base in Astrakhan region, home to 929th Flight Test Center. Since this is the only known base for Su-57s, these aircraft probably participated in operations against Ukraine.

"Russia is highly likely prioritising avoiding the reputational damage, reduced export prospects, and the compromise of sensitive technology which would come from any loss of Su-57 over Ukraine. This is symptomatic of Russia’s continued risk-averse approach to employing its air force in the war," British intelligence concluded.
