British intelligence explains high losses of Russian army by its unprofessionalism
The high level of losses in the Russian army in the war against Ukraine is due to incompetence: it is obvious that Russian troops store ammunition near the personnel deployments
British intelligence shared the information in its report on Twitter.
British intelligence recalled that on December 31, 2022, Ukraine struck a vocational school building in the occupied city of Makiivka, Donetsk region, killing just under a hundred Russian soldiers.
"Given the extent of the damage, there is a realistic possibility that ammunition was being stored near to troop accommodation, which detonated during the strike creating secondary explosions," the report said.
According to British intelligence, the building was located just 12.5 km from the Avdiivka sector of the front line, one of the fiercest areas of the conflict.
"The Russian military has a record of unsafe ammunition storage from well before the current war, but this incident highlights how unprofessional practices contribute to Russia’s high casualty rate," the British intelligence stressed.
- Over January 3, Russia lost 720 soldiers, 3 drones and an air defense system in Ukraine.
