British intelligence assesses impact of UAV attack on key Russian air base in Bryansk region
The drone attack on the Seshcha air base in the Bryansk region on May 3 proved that the key military facilities of the Russian Federation are under increasing threat
This was announced by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain on Twitter.
British analysts draw attention to the fact that on May 3, several drones attacked the Russian Seshcha air base, which is 150 km north of the Ukrainian border in the Bryansk region. As a result of the attack, the An-124 heavy transport aircraft was probably damaged.
Seshcha is the center of military transport aviation of the Russian Federation in the west of the country and played an important role in the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russia also uses this location to launch Iranian kamikaze drones in the direction of Kyiv.
"The VTA is a well-resourced element of the Russian Air Force, essential for transport across the vast country. Russian leaders will be concerned that Russia’s air defenses continue to be compromised, holding at risk key strategic assets such as VTA bases," British intelligence concluded.
