Boris Johnson receives letter from Mariupol evacuee, six-year-old Illya
In response to Johnson's letter to all Ukrainian children, railroad workers handed him a letter and a photo from 6-year-old Illya, who was evacuated from Mariupol
This was reported by railway company Ukrzaliznytsia.
Railway workers handed over the original letter and it's translation to the prime minister. It later emerged that Johnson was reading in Ukrainian.
“The Prime Minister visited the Saving the Future exhibition about a million children sent to safety by railways during the war. The railway workers used the opportunity to give the UK's Prime Minister a letter from a six year old boy, who was evacuated from Mariupol. The original and the translation were handed over, but as it turned out on the train, Mr. Boris Johnson reads in Ukrainian!", the statement reads.
Boris Johnson and Vladimir Zelensky also visited St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery and visited the exhibition of destroyed Russian occupants’ military equipment.
