Blinken comments on Ukrainian Armed Forces' successful counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region
Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of State, says that Ukraine made significant progress during the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region.
The US State Department reports.
"Obviously, we've seen significant progress by Ukrainians, especially in the northeast, and that's a result of the support we've provided, but above all, it's a result of the extraordinary courage and resilience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," says Blinken during press conference in Mexico.
He added that the operation was planned very methodically.
"Of course, it received significant support from the United States and many other countries in providing Ukraine with the equipment necessary to continue this counteroffensive, which has one clear goal - to return those lands that were seized by Russia," Blinken noted.
At the same time, according to him, it is still too early to make predictions about how the war will end.
"The Russians keep very significant forces in Ukraine, as well as equipment, weapons and ammunition. They continue to use them indiscriminately not only against the Ukrainian armed forces, but also against the civilian population and civilian infrastructure, as we have seen," pointed out Blinken.
