Blackouts hit Ukraine's businesses
Power outages have been introduced across the country due to Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy system. However, Ukrainian business continues to work

Not all businesses can afford to buy a power generator in case of blackout.
“We can't cook anything when there is no electricity, except to offer the ready-made products. There is no gas here. In order to feed all the processes, we need the powerful generator, which costs UAH 250,000. And the problem is I don't earn that much,” Olha Tesliak, the owner of one of the coffee shops, said.
The malls have several powerful generators in case of power outages, but tenants are asked to turn off anything unnecessary. Therefore, in terms of shutdown, the corridors are dimly lit, but the shops are still open.
“Even before the hostilities began, we had 4 generators. We adapted them to the needs of our tenants. If the tenants listen to our requests and turn off 70% of the light, then something necessary, such as a cash register, works,” Yurii Babii, chief engineer of one of the shopping centers, said.
Power outages occur throughout Ukraine. However, there are lucky people whose electricity is turned off only in emergency cases, usually during missile strikes. This is due to the fact that critical objects of the social sphere are not turned off. For example, hospitals, metro or rescue services. Therefore, all household consumers who have light from the same line with such objects do not fall under the blackout.
