Ship with record cargo volume of 195,700 tons leaves Ukraine's Pivdennyi port

The CAPTAIN LEONIDAS left Pivdennyi port with a record volume of cargo. The ship was the largest of all those that have called at Ukrainian ports since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion

This was announced by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.

The vessel was flying the flag of Panama. The length of this ship is 300 metres, width - 50 metres, and deadweight - more than 203,000 tonnes.

As of April 6, more than 36 million tonnes of cargo have been exported via the Ukrainian sea corridor since August 2023.

"This is higher than the Grain Initiative's figures for the first year of its existence. Already 1286 vessels have sailed through the Ukrainian corridor, exporting 25 million tonnes of agricultural products to Asia, Africa and Europe. Currently, 135 vessels are waiting to enter the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi to export 4 million tonnes of cargo," the minister added.
