Black Sea grain agreement is extended for 120 days
"Initiative for safe transportation of agricultural products across the Black Sea" will continue for another four months, the decision was made on November 17 in Istanbul
This was announced on Facebook by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.
He claims that the decision to extend the agreement on the transportation of Ukrainian grain was made in Istanbul on the morning of November 17.
According to Kubrakov, Turkey and the UN remain guarantors.
The Minister informs that Ukraine submitted proposals for solving export problems to the Joint Coordination Center, and also appealed to partners from the Initiative to extend the agreement for another year and involve Mykolaiv port in it.
"We have to use all the available export potential of our ports so that the world quickly receives the necessary amounts of food," Kubrakov emphasizes.
The minister of infrastructure reminded that Ukraine has exported more than 11 million tons of agricultural produce to 38 countries of the world since the grain agreement started on August 1.
"This is a significant volume, but not enough. The world market has no opportunity to replace Ukrainian agricultural products in the near future. At the same time, it is possible to increase the volume of our food for the world," the minister claimed.
