Biden's visit to Kyiv is public slap in Putin’s face - political scientist Mahda
Yevhen Mahda, Executive Director of the Institute of World Policy, believes that President Biden’s visit is an extremely powerful information charge that has exploded in the right place
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
Yevhen Mahda commented on the visit of US President Joe Biden to Kyiv today, February 20.
"This is a public slap in Putin’s face, I would say, in a public place, not by force, but by sound, and it is very much a response. For the past week, Russians have been speculating about what Putin will say in his address to the Federal Assembly, and here is Biden's visit, which showed that he is not afraid to be in a country at war, of course, in compliance with all security standards," said the Executive Director of the Institute of World Policy.
Mahda emphasized that there is another very important fact: today is the Day of Remembrance of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes and the day when Russia actually began the annexation of Crimea in 2014, and Biden's visit demonstrates that the US is quite clearly aware of this. And, if you will, this is a work on Biden's own mistakes as a person who was vice president of the United States in 2014.
"This is an extremely powerful information charge, it exploded in the right place, and no visit of Wang Yi, the head of Chinese diplomacy, to Moscow today will interrupt this. And Biden has demonstrated that the US is the number one player in world politics," the political analyst concluded.
