The US President noted that Putin no longer doubts the strength of the international coalition, but still doubts that support for Ukraine will last. Biden emphasized that NATO will support Ukraine as long as necessary. He vowed that the US and its allies and partners “are going to continue to have Ukraine’s back as it defends itself.”
"One year into this war, Putin no longer doubts the strength of our coalition. But he doubts our stay in power and our continuous support for Ukraine. He doubts NATO can remain unified. But there should be no doubt – our support for Ukraine will not waver. NATO will not be divided, and we will get tired of supporting Ukraine. Putin's craven lust for land and power will fail, and the Ukrainians' love for their country will prevail," the US president said.
Biden also emphasized that Article 5 of NATO's charter is "rock solid," and an attack against one member is an attack against all.
“Commitment of the United States to our alliance and Article 5 is rock solid. And every member of NATO knows it and Russia knows it as well: an attack against one is an attack against all. It’s a sacred oath,” Joe Biden emphasized.
“Autocrats only understand one word: no.” Biden said.
“No, you will not take my country. No, you will not take my freedom. No, you will not take my future. I’ll repeat tonight what I said last year at the same place. A dictator bent on rebuilding an empire will never be able to ease the people’s love of liberties. Brutality will never grind down the will of the free. Ukraine will never be a victory for Russia, never,” he pointed out.
